Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur starrer Toofan has been postponed more than once now and the filmmakers are looking for a fresh date to release the film on OTT. Owing to the current situation, Farhan had announced that the film will be postponed indefinitely as it would be insensitive to release it during the second wave of the pandemic.
Talking about this, Mrunal said that she was slightly disheartened that one of her biggest films will not have a theatrical release but happy that it will be available to a lot of countries at the same time because of the OTT release. She further spoke of Farhan’s performance in the film and said that she wants to celebrate his hard work and dedication because he’s outdone himself. She said, “Farhan has done a fabulous job. If Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was great, Toofan is just out of the world. He’s given everything to this movie and after the release also, when things are sorted, I would want to celebrate Farhan as Toofan and watch the movie in theatres. It’s one of my desires. You know the joy of watching a movie in the theatres is something else.”
Another project that's much-awaited starring the actor is Jersey with Shahid Kapoor.
Talking about her role and how Shahid Kapoor helped her, Mrunal talked about Sarah to us in an exclusive chat and said, “Shahid helped me perform scenes. He helped me understand the character better. What he made me understand is that I am a 2020 girl but the character I’m playing in Jersey is not a 2020 girl. She’s from a 1992 or 1996 era girl and the thought process also varies accordingly.”
She further spoke of how she was sceptical about doing Jersey as she was already a part of another sports drama, Toofan but the character range and difference between the two made her take up the film.
