Main Award Winners

Best Film - Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

There was no bigger film than this. We finally got the answer to the earth shattering question -- why did Katappa kill Baahubali. The extravagant sets, the immaculate CGI, the emotional impact, it was all larger than life events more and took our breath away second time around as well.

Best Director - S S Rajamouli

Movie - Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Rajamouli managed to do what only few have been able to achieve -- make the sequel earn more money than the original. The grand saga of Baahubali continued in the second part, making the viewers gasp with wonder every two minutes as their senses got assaulted with one visual spectacle after another.

Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) - Vijay Devarakonda

Movie - Arjun Reddy

The film tried to show how a person can just lose it and go on a self-destructive spiral and how alcohol and drugs speeden up the process. Vijay Deverakonda must have brought out his own demons to give us this gutsy performance of a man teetering on the brink of annihilation and how he crawls back up from there.

Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female) - Sai Pallavi

Movie - Fidaa

Sai Pallavi played a much in love girl who loves her native village and her father in equal measure and doesn’t want to part with both even after marriage. She wishes to find a mate who will respect her wishes and is also aware that it’s a tall proposition alright. The movie belonged to her.

Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male) - Rana Daggubati

Movie - Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Rana reprises his role from the first part of Baahubali. As Bhallaladeva, he is pure evil personified. He’s fuelled by lust, by rage, by jealousy to wreak havoc on the very people he rules. Rana went for rigorous gym training to prepare himself for the role of a iron-hard warrior and the results looked spectacular on screen.

Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female) - Ramya Krishna

Movie - Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Mothers have always been venetrated in our filns. With Baahubali 2, Ramya Krishna joined the ranks of such iconic screen moms as Nargis in Mother India and Nirupa Roy in Deewaar. Her unblinking eyes spoke volumes throughout the film, bringing out her pride, honour, anger and hurt without need of dialogue.

Best Music Album - M M Keeravani

Movie - Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

The songs, the music were heroic to say the least and complemented the theme of the film to a T. The music enhanced the viewing experience and added layers to it.

Best Lyrics - M M Keeravani

Movie - Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Song - Dandaalayyaa

The song talks about Baahubali being the people’s patron and someone they look up to. It basically sums up the love and devotion the masses feel for the exiled ruler.

Best Playback Singer (Male) - Hemachandra

Movie - Fidaa

Song - Oosupodhu

The singer adapts to the variations in the composition quite well, changing his pitch wherever required and coming up with another winner in the process.

Best Playback Singer (Female) - Madhu Priya

Movie - Fidaa

Song - Vachchinde

The situational song gives you a direct connect to the female protagonist of the film and is pretty hummable in its own right.
