Here's the complete winners list of Filmfare Awards South 2018:
It’s a film about the life of a bald man who is told by his family priest to get married soon otherwise he’ll forever remain a bachelor. The film truthfully depicts how beauty is indeed skin deep and those who don’t fit into prescribed norms have to undergo various degrees of suffering because of that.
It’s seldom that we see hyperlinked films in India but Tarun attempted that and succeeded. He wove a tale around four different strands dealing with crime and punishment and the chance towards redemption and tied them all up neatly towards the end.
It was a socially-relevant film with a message. And one that asked relevant questions pertaining to what’s currently happening in the society. The actor changed his image with the film and his performance helped him score another feather in his cap.
Shruthi played a woman who is wrongly accused of being a prostitute and has to face social boycott because of that. How she copes with it and turns her life around forms the crux of the story. Shruthi does ample justice of all the facets of the character.
Veteran P Ravishankar is in form here a an ambitious father who only wants the best for his son. He has been known for his villain roles but here he turns the wheel around and surprises the audience with this positive role which carries shades of Swara Bhaskara from Nil Battey Sannata.
Urvi is a film which strikes a blow for women power and it’s hard to play the antagonist in such a scenario. Bhavani may not have got the sympathy of the audience playing an unpopular character but she made sure she won their appreciation through their power-packed performance.
The film is described as a musical despite having just one song! But such is the power of the composition that it adds another layer to the narrative.
Fathers and daughters share a unique bond and this feeling is beautifully brought out in this fun song.
Armaan Malik strikes another one out of the park with his rendition of this retro tune. His virtuosity in languages other than Hindi continues to amaze us
