17 years ago, in 2003, a gritty drama called Haasil released on Hindi cinema’s marquee. The film was helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and starred Jimmy Shergill and Irrfan Khan. Irrfan Khan’s menacing avatar had become the talking point of the film and had grabbed all the eyeballs. And that’s the time the industry surely knew, that we have a certified versatile actor in showbiz who could handle author-backed roles.
Today as Haasil completes 17 years, director Tigmanshu Dhulia took to his social media account to share some thoughts about the film and remember his good friend and actor par excellence who left us too early. He said in his tweet, ‘I remember the title came to my mind at his rented evershine nagar flat… brainstorming twenty years agao… Haasil. It completes 17 years today, a film which is an ode to our friendship of 34 years and it will never end…you will always guide me my friend.’
Now that’s such a warm message to share for his departed friend and an artiste who left us too early. Haasil was quite bold and gritty drama for its time.I remember the title came to my mind at his rented evershine nagar flat...brainstorming twenty years ago...Haasil. It completes 17 years today, a film which is an ode to our friendship of 34 years and it will never end...you will always guide me my friend

Irrfan Khan even won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in A Negative Role for his performance in the film. Irrfan’s performances will always manage to leave us spellbound and speechless and we can’t thank him enough for all the great films he left us behind in his legacy.
