Saqib Saleem has ventured into the digital world and his first webseries Crackdown was launched a couple of days back. The show has got everyone talking and Saqib Saleem’s action-avatar has impressed everyone. Today he got talking to a leading daily and said that he is over-critical about his work and has not watched the entire show himself, but his friends from Delhi and even some industry folks are praising his performance.
In his interview with the daily, Saqib Saleem said that he gave it his all for his first ever action-character. Speaking about action, Saqib said that for him action is like dancing, “Action is like dancing - once you get the hang of it, it gives you an adrenaline rush. I would often come back to the hotel with bruises, but I wasn't complaining because I was having fun. Since last year, I have been training in kickboxing, which came handy. Action director Javed Karim assigned three fighters who trained me for four months.”
What’s more when asked about did he seek inspiration from any actor for his tough avatar, he said that he used to often visit Sanjay Dutt movies to get the walk right, “While the story is rooted in logic and doesn't go over the top, you will see a lot of heroism on the show. I would often go back to Sanjay Dutt's performances to get closer to my character. I tried aping his walk.” We must say that Saqib Saleem indeed seek for the best inspiration. While Saqib is basking in the glory for the success of Crackdown, he also has another web-show awaiting its release on an OTT platform.
