Who is your closest friend from the industry?

Irrfan Khan.

Among your contemporary directors, who are your favourites?

I like the works of Dibakar Banerjee, Sriram Raghavan and Abhishek Kapoor.

And who are your favourite actors from the current lot?

I like Ranbir Kapoor since Saawariya and Ranveer Singh was so good in Bajirao Mastani. Among the actresses, Deepika Padukone is excellent.

One film you wish you had directed?

Haider.

Three things we don’t know about Tigmanshu Dhulia?

- I'm a great cook and I recently made a nice bengali style prawn curry.

- I'm obsessed with the wildlife and I like visiting Jim Corbett National Park.

- I can sing and play the guitar.

Critical acclaim or box-office success?

I want box-office success but not at the cost of people saying I made a bad film. I want a good film to do well. Main gaaliyo se darta hoon. (Smiles)
