Pankaj Tripathi to play Osho in his next?

Since the trailer of Sacred Games season 2 has been out, one character that generated much curiosity is that of Pankaj Tripathi as Guruji. Though the actor was seen briefly in season 1, in this upcoming season, his role will be unveiled more. Pankaj Tripathi's look and character as Guruji is said to be inspired by one of the most renowned spiritual figures, Osho. Also known as Bhagwan Acharya Rajneesh, he was a spiritual guru, mystic and philosopher and a leader of the Rajneesh movement. Osho lead a controversial life leading to a reported ban on him by several countries including the US and India in the late 1970s. Pankaj Tripathi's looks and dialogue from Sacred Games season 2 trailer has apparent influences of Osho, who still has a massive following across the world. Though there is no official confirmation on this from the makers of the show, it is believed that there are several references to Osho and his way of life and practices that will be depicted in the character of Guruji.

Netflix's Sacred Games is one of the most successful web series in India. Lead by Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, season 2 of the show will be out on August 15.
