Zoya Akhtar is currently directing her upcoming film Gully Boy, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. The film is about the underground music industry in Mumbai and Ranveer Singh will be seen playing a rapper in it. After the final cut of Gully Boy has been made, sources close to the director claim that she will start working on the sequel of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The film will bring back all the main leads, comprising Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif.
A source close Zoya told an entertainment portal, “Zoya feels that the audience would be keen to know what the characters are up to in today’s time. The sequel will retain all the characters and the story will take a 10-year leap.”
Talking about when the film will start rolling, the source claimed, “It is too early to talk about the same. Although the basic premise has been locked, Zoya will start working on the screenplay by end of this year once the final cut of Gully Boys is ready. If all goes as planned, the film would go on floors in the second half of 2019.” We sure are looking forward to this one with bated breath.
