Its wacky, irreverent humour
We haven’t seen a Guy Ritchie drugs and rock and roll treatment in our films before this. Its zany plot and funny as sin situations had the audience rolling in the aisles. The biggest grouse was its short length; we wanted to see reams and reams more of it.
The comic timing of the lead cast
Imran Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Vir Das not only looked like real friends, they acted their hearts out and developed an uncanny, split second timing which was so necessary for this kind of a film. Their reactions to each other and to situations uplifted the film.
Aamir Khan’s appearance as Disco Fighter in the song, I hate you (Like I Love You)
That song and character became such a cult phenomenon people came out with petitions regarding a movie revolving around Disco Fighter. You can still do it Aamir… We’re waiting.
Bhag DK Bose song
We all know what that means, right – wink, wink…We just loved the naughty, naughty lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and set to tune by Ram Sampath. The song created a storm over the internet, with celebrities taking sides for or against it. Imran Khan sported a grungy look and apparently learnt the guitar chords of the song.
Jaa chudail song
Break-up songs are anyways a rarity in our films and a break-up song this volatile is a rarity indeed. The lyrics went like Phool nahin, pari nahin, jungli ek bhaalu hai tu / Arrey haan haan haan, go to hell. Over-the-top as hell but packs a punch alright.
